Initiation is a melodic black death metal band from the Paris region, formed in 2018 around a powerful brotherhood between its original members. Drawing inspiration from the coldness and sharpness of the Scandinavian scene, the band delivers incisive, dark, and relentless riffs. The songs, built in long structures and sung in French, are journeys exploring themes of death, the passage to the other side, and despair.

With a first demo released in 2020, the band has performed several concerts since 2022, most recently alongside Vircolac and Exhumation, and the feedback has been promising. Initiation is now continuing its rise from the underground, seeking to further saturate ears with its dark message.

Their debut album, Noir Berger, is set to be released in early February 2025.
